No Surprises Act

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act

As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act gives clients certain protections against unexpected medical bills, including the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for therapy services. This law is designed to increase transparency in healthcare costs and ensure that clients have a clear understanding of the fees they may incur.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of the expected charges for therapy services, including individual sessions, assessments, and any other services that may be provided. While the estimate is not a final bill, it provides a detailed overview of the anticipated costs, allowing you to plan for your care accordingly.

Your Rights:

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you start therapy or at any time during your treatment upon request.
  • The estimate will include the total expected cost of services. Please note that this is an estimate, and the actual cost may vary based on the frequency of sessions, length of therapy, or changes in your treatment plan.
  • If you are billed more than $400 above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.

For Uninsured or Self-Paying Clients:

If you do not have insurance or choose not to use your insurance or out of network benefits for therapy services, you will automatically receive a Good Faith Estimate as required by law.

How to Request a Good Faith Estimate:

You can request a Good Faith Estimate for services at any time by contacting us directly. We are committed to transparency and are happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding your therapy costs.
